The Palazzo dei Congressi, located in the southern EUR district in Rome, started construction in 1938. Originally, it was designed for the 1942 Universal Exhibition. However, due to World War II, construction was finalized in 1952. The design and the construction process of the building are strongly connected to the social-political context in that era; the Italian Faciscm movement led by Mussolini. His political motives and ideals are reflected in the grounding, the facade and the internal organization of the Palazzo. The interior drawings below in their sequence narrate the story behind Palazzo dei Congressi.
