My name is Aimee Baars (1995). I am Dutch and have been working and living in The Hague since 2018. I started photography at age 16, interested in mostly portrait, landscape and street photography. Throughout my early twenties I started working as a parttime photographer and have continued to do so, next to my job as an urban designer and architect.
As a photographer I try to disappear, in the sense that I become an observer. With my photography style I provide a comfortable, natural setting where you – as the model – are free to talk and move authentically, like you normally would. As for the set up, I prefer soft materials, natural lighting and homey spaces where you spend your time daily, either indoors or outdoors.
